Take a number, AT&T

Voice
over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provider Vonage Holdings Corporation has reported in one of its regulatory filings that it is now being sued by AT&T, Inc.

Vonage noted in a regular filing with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission that AT&T is suing it for patent infringement and is also seeking injunctive relief, compensatory and treble damages and attorneys' fees.

AT&T is the latest claimant chasing Vonage for patent infringement.  Vonage has already been sued by Verizon Communications Inc. and by Sprint-Nextel Corporation for patent infringement. Verizon was awarded a $58 million judgment plus damages against Vonage, and Vonage is seeking judicial review of this decision currently.  Vonage was also sued by Sprint-Nextel Corporation and Sprint won a $69.5 million judgment plus damages against Vonage, which Vonage and Sprint settled this month.

AT&T and Vonage have had a litigious past in court filings dating back to 2004.  We’ll let you know what this legal action is about when more information surfaces.
