Innovatek, and Danger Den beware – there is a new Sheriff in town. Slovenian water block maker EK is offering not only standard water blocks for graphic cards and CPUs, but also for chipsets and mosfets.

The blocks base is completely made out of copper and the special feature are "bumps" for memory. This means that direct contact between the copper base and memory chip is made. No more do you have to use those silicone pads. The elevated part ("bump") can be seen on the picture below.

In the last few months, EK has covered most of the modern card models, and as the market of DX10 cards grow, we expect that G80 and R600 blocks will follow soon.

The company is offering mosfet coolers, but for the time being only for two motherboards.

The main advantage of these blocks is their price as the VGA cooler block that covers the memory chip will cost around €70. If you are interested in water cooling, browse to EK water blocks web page.
