Catches fire


Television maker Loewe is recalling televisions sets made between March 1999 and October 2001 because they catch fire.The sets include a wide range of Loewe 100Hz models which had faults in some of the solder points which caused overheating or in the worst case started a fire.

In Australia where 4,700 affected televisions were sold, there has been reports of one fire and the government is recommending owner to switch their TV off until it is fixed. The company will arrange for a free home inspection and repair of affected televisions.
