Outshines PS3

While
Sony's PS3 has been losing money for the company, its handheld PlayStation Portable appears to be doing well.

Sony Computer Entertainment said it has sold 1 million units of the new PSP in Japan only about two months after its September launch. It expected to sell a million of the devices, but not until after Christmas. The selling point appears to be the 4.3-inch high-resolution liquid-crystal display (LCD) and the fact that there are more than 500 games available for it.

Sony plans to ship several PSP games during the holiday season, including "Everybody's Golf Portable 2," "Kick The Cheeky Hero," "TalkMan Travel," and "Patapon."

Its goal is to eventually help it surpass Nintendo, which leads the market with the DS.
