Superman has nowhere to change
AT&T has decided to end its 129-year-old pay phone business.
The phone company said that its pay phones and phone booths will be phased out over the next year. Apparently, the use of Blackberrys and mobile phones has killed off the pay phone in the U.S., which hardly earns it any profit.
Verizon Communications still operates them in the Northeast part of the U.S. in New York and Boston, and has no plans to abandon them.
