BMW is set to offer internet access in its cars before Christmas.

The system will allow users to connect to the web by using an internet-capable mobile phone. The car's iDrive display screen acting as the computer monitor, and the iDrive joystick operating as a mouse.

BMW said that the web connection will only work when the car is in "Park". The system will also allow the phone user to call numbers sourced from the internet.

If you spend a lot of time parked in a BMW, or sleeping in it because you partner has thrown you out for spending too much time at work, then this could be the thing you are looking for.
