Sony makes new announcement

PSP
players will be able to make Skype calls on their gaming consoles.

In a press release from Sony, the next firmware update later this month will include Skype software. The Voice over IP software will be available under the Network menu.

Users will be able to create a new account or login with their existing one. Sony pointed out that it will be a full Skype service with free calls between Skype users and SkypeOut to call landlines.

Skype will only work on the PSP-2000 range of the PSP Slim, PSP Lite and PSP Petite due to hardware limitations on other machines.
