Renames it to PBO Core

Patriot has decided to update and relaunch its Box Office media player that will now offer a couple of new features, better compatibilty and a slightly different design. The Patriot Box Office Core as Patriot calls it now, will get Internet Media Services, better compatibilty with HDTV devices and an ability to support external optical USB devices.

The new PBO Core still has pretty much the same looks with an aluminum casing although the front mask has been slightly redesinged. It still features a single internal 2.5-inch HDD bay, features three USB ports, and has support for full HD 1080p playback via HDMI output. The similar media players have been flooding the market for quite some time, including the previous Patriot Box Office.

The new PBO Core can also brag with a slightly redesigned and "enhanced" user interface. According to Patriot Memory, the PBO Core is a result of feedback and ideas that were left on Patriot's forum and as such were "worthy" to be included in a whole new product.

The new PBO Core HD Media Player should appear in retail/e-tail pretty soon with a price tag of around US $99.
