Benchmark for Windows 7 systems

Maker of 3DMark series benchmarks Futuremark is getting ready to roll out yet another benchmark that will be aimed at systems running Windows 7 OS - the PCMark 7. The new PCMark 7 benchmark will simply test all the PC performance aspects rather than focus simply on GPU performance.

According to Futuremark, PCMark 7 was made due to the fact that hardware innovations, like SSDs, and new form factors, such as netbooks and tablets, have increased the range of PC performance. In order to simplify the choice and precisely compare the actual PC performance in various usage scenarios, the benchmark will have seven suites that will test specific PC performance aspects.

Unfortunately, Futuremark is still quiet on the actual release date and the pricing but we are sure that there will be more info pretty soon.
