E.U. authorities have raided Intel's office in Munich, Germany. The inspectors also paid a visit to several offices belonging to Intel's suppliers and the company claims it is cooperating with investigators.

Intel spokesman, Chuck Mulloy, confirmed that Chipzilla's Munich office had been raided. "I can confirm that there has been a raid on our offices in Munich," said Mulloy, "As is our normal practice, we are co-operating with authorities."

Apart from Intel, U.K. retailer, DSG International, also found itself on the receiving end of overzealous European bureaucrats and it, too, claims to be cooperating with the investigation. As if anyone in such a situation really has a choice.

The European Commission claims Intel is in violation of European laws on restrictive business practices. The action was apparently undertaken after a complaint from AMD, which accused Intel of uncompetitive practices.
