AMD spent more than $180,000 over the last four months to butter up Congress, the Department of Defense and the executive office of the President. Most of the cash was spent trying to encourage the government to increase its technology spending levels, and improve competitiveness and research in the semiconductor industry.

According to a lobbying disclosure form filed with Congress, the company spent more than $180,000. It does not mention how the money was spent. More than $180,000 would buy you a lot of gin and it is not clear if it was money well spent.

AMD does not seem to have been heard particularly well in political circles where Intel, Google and Microsoft have everyone's ear. Maybe it is time for AMD to look at the quality of alcohol it is serving at these functions.
