Brit to start camping out for new iPhone

by on10 August 2011

It’s bound to launch sooner or later
A British man is planning to start camping in front of an Apple Store in London awaiting the new iPhone 5.

The fact that no launch date is in sight does not seem to concern Rob Shoesmith, who claims the whole camping idea is an elaborate social experiment and marketing scheme. Shoesmith says he has no idea how long it will take, but eventually Apple will launch the highly anticipated phone.

The social experiment bit is the fact that Shoesmith did not bring any money with him. So, he can’t actually buy an iPhone, or pay for food for that matter, unless he gets some sponsors and donations while he’s camping out.

Exactly why someone would donate cash to a bloke planning to spend it all on an overpriced upmarket smartphone is beyond us, but at least his “experiment” is drawing some traction.
