IHS iSuppli upbeat on PC market

Returns to growth in Q2
According to the latest figures fresh out of iSuppli, the global PC market managed to rebound and return to growth in the second quarter.

PC shipments totaled 85.6 million units, up 3.7 percent sequentially and 6 percent year-over-year. Lenovo boasts the strongest growth, with about 10.2 million PCs shipped in Q2, up 25.6 percent from Q1. Acer on the other hand had an underwhelming quarter. It was down 4 percent compared to Q1, and 20 percent year-over-year.

In overall rankings HP managed to hold on to first spot with 15.3 million units and no significant growth. Dell’s share grew by 6.1 percent for a total of 11.1 million units. Asus ranked fifth with 4.5 million units and 5.3 percent growth.
