Starting at $799

The Samsung Q1 Ultra is now officially available, at least if you live in the US of A. Although the original Q1 wasn't a huge hit, it seems like Samsung is sticking with to the UMPC form factor. The Q1 Ultra offers a range of interesting features that makes it a lot more appealing than the original Q1.

The Q1 Ultra has been given an integrated QWERTY keypad - calling it a keyboard would be a lie - that you can type on with your thumbs, as half of it is on each side of the screen. The display measures 7 in, has a resolution of 1,024x600 and features LED backlight.

The Q1 Ultra should according to the press release deliver no less than 4.5h of battery life, thanks to new power saving features. It is powered by an Intel Ultra Mobile Processor clocked at 600 or 800MHz depending on model.

Samsung has squeezed in a wide range of connectivity features, ranging from integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR to factory optional 3.5G HSDPA modem.
