4G users can finally enjoy Ice Cream Sandwich

Over the past few weeks, we have been reporting about Google's negligence to provide a unified, comprehensive rollout of its Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates to numerous flagship smartphones including its own Nexus S, Nexus S 4G and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

Last Thursday, after many months of delay, the company finally released Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich updates for two 3G-capable Nexus phones -  the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (I9250, 3G HSPA+ model) and the Google Nexus S (I9020, 3G GSM model). However, 4G LTE users on the Nexus S 4G were left behind, once again, without any solid release date or evidence thereof.

Nevertheless, the folks at BriefMobile are now reporting that Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Google Nexus S 4G has been leaked from a private source with exclusive access. The leak contains full uncompromised and authentic images of everything in the official Android 4.0.4 release: an updated signed_radio.img, boot.img, bootloader.img, recovery.img, system.img, and userdata.img.

While an "official" (see: Over-The Air) release date for Ice Cream Sandwich on the Nexus S 4G has yet to be announced, BriefMobile notes that its sibling, the GSM Nexus S, received the update two days ago.
