Hitting the cloud

Samsung seems to be wanting to get into this cloud lark and has bought mSpot, a mobile cloud-based content service provider based inCalifornia.

The acquisition means Samsung will have its paws on a loud-based entertainment system  and will mean that mSpot's cloud and streaming will be put on a global footing. It looks like the main target will  be Samsung's mobile and tablet device entertainment offerings.

TJ Kang, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Media Solution Centre was quoted as saying that mSpot shares our vision to bring a best-in-class cloud and streaming entertainment experience to consumers, and has  backed it up with innovative technical solutions from a great engineering team.

The acquisition will include the full scope of technology, assets and human resources under mSpot. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed.
