More flexible cloud services coming

Dell has announced that it has finished the acquisition of Make Technologies and is ready to offer a one stop shop modernisation package for customers. Make is a software modernisation and services company which  combined with Dell's recent acquisition of Clerity Solutions will help the company build more flexible cloud based packages.

A spokesman said that by using technology within these two companies Dell can reduce the cost, risk and time required to transition business-critical applications from legacy systems to cloud infrastructure and open, standards-based platforms. Dell has been pushing its software expertise lately and wants to offer  customers a package based around Make Technologies Transformational Legacy Modernisation suite. This allows for portfolio assessments of client systems to help customers come up with an upgrade plan.
It will also mean that the customer can design faster, lower risk, and cost-effective approach to application and data re-engineering.

Do do that, Dell has had to scale Make's software so it can be rolled out to bigger businesses. Steve Schuckenbrock, president at Dell Services said that the addition of Make Technologies to Dell's Services portfolio allows us to offer customers a complete suite of application modernisation services to help them move their legacy IT environments to more modern architectures.

It will mean that there will be a single vendor solution for any company modernisation programme anywhere in the world.
