MSI has started to officially talk about its Asus EeePC killer, named MSI Wind. MSI decided to shed some "official" light on this little thing way ahead of launch, which should happen sometime in June, just in time for Computex.

According to the press release, the 1kg heavy Wind notebook will be available in both 8.9" and 10.2" flavors capable of displaying 1024 x 600 resolution. This resolution will be enough to reproduce most Web sites in full glory, or at least better than Asus's Eee PC 701. Unlike its flash-based competition MSI's little thing will use a standard 2.5-inch 80GB hard drive.

Other noted specs include Bluetooth 2.0 and a 1.3M Webcam, whereas the rest of the specs aren't official yet. The press release shows Wind PC in white and pink colors and we saw the blue and silver colored ones during CeBIT. The cheapest one will be sold for €299, and it will come with Linux OS. The price will climb up to €699 for the top offering that will also include Windows XP.

The machine also has a 1.6GHz Atom processor, but this is not something that MSI wants to officially confirm.

All we can do now is wait for June and the Computex show.
