Wise TIVI wants to take on Ouya

Dumb-to-smart TV in three flavours

Remember the Ouya? The Android gaming console that ended up being a runaway success on Kickstarter could be getting some competition in the form of the Wise TIVI stick.

The TIVI portable stick is basically an HDMI dongle that can transform any HDTV into a smart TV for peanuts. It is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core processor with quad-core Mali 400 graphics. It also includes 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, a micro USB port along with a full sized USB port and a TF card slot for expansion.

The OS of choice is Android 4.2 and TIVI is also compatible with a few wireless accessories for gamers. Best of all, the tiny stick costs $79, but a box version should sell for $59, and it ships with a remote. A camera equipped unit, designed to be clipped on top of your TV, costs $89.

Given the price, it doesn’t look half bad. Of course, the spec could have been better, but at $59 for the Box version with remote - it’s a steal.
