OUYA open up for pre-orders

Retail/e-tail to get it in June


Android based gaming console OUYA, one of the biggest surprises over at Kickstarter, has been on a quite a roll recently announcing that its Kickstarter backers will get their own consoles right on the March schedule. Those that were no eager to join the Kickstarter campaign will be able to pre-order their own as of today, while retail/e-tail should get it in June.

As noted, OUYA launched a pre-order over at its site with a price set at US $99 for a console and a single controller. Each additional controller (up to four per console) will be sold for US $49.99 each. The units pre-ordered today from OUYA site should be shipped out in June.

On a similar note, OUYA's founder, Julie Uhrman, said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that OUYA will hit retail/e-tail, including Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Gamestop in June. She also noted that there will be around 200 titles coming to OUYA as of right now, with Final Fantasy 3 being one of the exclusive ones.
