Hewlett Packard working on Android gear?

by on14 February 2013

So much for webOS

Hewlett Packard has reportedly opted to shift to Android for its upcoming tablets and phones, scheduled to appear later this year.

HP tried to crack the tablet market with webOS-based gear in 2011, resulting in one of the biggest flops in the tablet industry. Now though, it seems to be interested in Android.

Readwrite.com reports that HP’s next tablet will be powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 4 SoC and Android. It is expected to appear sometime in August or September.

However, nothing is official yet and HP execs never confirmed plans to move to Android. Windows RT could have been on the tablet, but Redmond’s tablet OS is underperforming to say the least.
