Book of Records, not the stout

Last
month Mozilla set the world download record and it has already found its place in The Guinness Book of Records.

On Download Day, Firefox 3 was downloaded 8,002,530 times in just 24 hours. This works out to 92 downloads per second, and sounds very impressive, indeed.

In spite of these mindboggling figures, there are still eight times as many Firefox 2 users. In terms of market share in June, Firefox 3 has a 2.3 percent market share, trailing Safari with 3.1, Firefox 2 with 16.1, as well as IE 6 with 26.3 percent and IE 7 with 46.4 percent.

Firefox 3's share is expected to jump significantly in July, as it was released in mid-June.
