Respawn now saying Titanfall Beta still possible

by on21 January 2014

Developer has not totally ruled out a beta yet

After the reaction to the news that Respawn was conducting a private alpha test of Titanfall, many had wondered if the possibility of a beta still existed. Prior to this point Respawn has said nothing about a beta.

Now, Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe responded to a fan calling for an open public beta prior to the game’s release by saying that it could still be “possible,” but didn’t throw fuel on the fire by confirming anything official.

While Respawn head honcho Vince Zampella has commented that they were “definitely thinking about” running a beta for Titanfall, nothing has been decided at this point. The fact that Respawn is running an invite only private alpha test does show the developers desire to make sure that they get Titanfall right; and with all of the talk about a beta, if the timeline allows it could prove to be valuable.

According to our sources, nothing has changed and the game is still on track for release on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on March 11th in North America and March 14th in Europe. It does not look like anything is going to change as far as the release date goes. Time is short, however, to run a beta; and that more than anything might be the deciding factor.
