Newegg big plans for Europe

UK comes first

As we broke the news on our Twitter feed, US based online electronics stores Newegg is set to launch it's business into the international market. Plans are already in motion to open the doors in the United Kingdom shortly. Although according to our sources in NewEgg as well as what has been published already on the web the store opening will "soft launch" until the company feels more confident in the market.

Although launching into the UK will give them a footprint in Europe, non-English speaking markets will pose a significant barrier for them to cross not only due to translation and language differences, but also with localized shopping practices. Sources familar with plans of entering the European market have stated that they are exploring the potential of opening a distribution center in Spain.  The current economic climate of the area may prove extremely beneficial to the company to have a European base of operations located there.

NewEgg also has it's eyes on the emerging markets in South American counties as an additional way to expand their business in the future.  The company claims to have more than 25 million registered users and 8.5 million subscribers to it's e-mail based marketing newsletter.
