ITC gets involved in Samsung-Nvidia dispute

Investigating patent infringement claims

The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) is investigating complaints filed by Samsung against Nvidia.

Samsung is no stranger to ITC investigations, but Nvidia has not been embroiled in nearly as many legal disputes as the Korean giant.

The two companies have already taken a number of legal actions against each other. Nvidia filed a suit against Samsung and several other companies back in September. Samsung responded with a counter-suit in November and later that month it tried to block sales of Nvidia chips via a complaint to the ITC.

The ITC is now investigating both parties involved in the dispute, reports AnandTech. Samsung’s goal of blocking sales of Nvidia products would extend to a number of partners, including leading Nvidia AIB partners and vendors of Tegra-based tablets.
