Microsoft buys into Move
Video streaming technology enhanced
Microsoft has ploughed shedloads of cash into the Internet TV company Move Networks.
At the moment it is not clear how much money Microsoft has put into Move but it seems to be hoping that the company will broaden the reach of its video streaming technology. The pair already had set up a strategic partnership six months ago and Microsoft said it would support Move Network's video streaming technology within Silverlight.
Move Networks said it will support Windows Server-based encoding, Microsoft video-compression technology, and Silverlight's digital rights management. Move supplies high-definition video-delivery technology to ABC, Discovery, ESPN, and Fox.
The pair will be showing off their teamwork during the Democratic National Convention this week.
