Estonia
is hosting the Web sites of Georgia's central bank and Foreign Ministry to try to protect them from cyber attacks.

Georgia has been farming out lots of key Web sites to servers in other countries, in a bid to save them from cyber attacks from Russian hackers. Estonia has a long history of dealing with cyber attacks. Its government and private sector Web sites were targeted in May 2007, just days after the Baltic state decided to relocate a Soviet war memorial and grave. It has been at the forefront of calling for EU support for more defenses to be put in place against hackers.

Katrin Pargmae, a spokeswoman for the Estonian center said that it was a way for Georgia to make its Web pages available to the world. Estonia is also hosting a Georgian English-language news portal.
