Apple Pay being accepted in UK

by on04 May 2015

Tesco leads the way

Apple Pay was supposed to launch in Europe sometime this year, but it seems it's already alive and kicking in Britain, at least in some colations.

British based grocery and general merchandise retailer, Tesco, has quietly started accepting Apple's digital wallet service Apple Pay at their locations in London.

On a recent trip two weeks ago we were able to successfully use our US-based iPhones to complete purchases at the checkout stands much to the surprise and wonder of the staff on hand.  It seems that they did not even know the service had been enabled and were quite confused when we were observed testing the service.

It seems that Apple Pay is getting closer to becoming reality in the UK.  Our recent trials in mainland Europe however did not yield any successful results.
