Six inch, 4K displays are here

Everdisplay provides 734 pixels per inch

Chinese AMOLED display maker Everdisplay has made a 6 inch, 4K display which it says is headed for VR gear.

The 3,840 x 2,160 pixel display has a pixel density of 734 pixels per inch which is shedloads better than my monitor.

Everdisplay says the screens aren't the right size to be used for smartphones but will head for virtual reality devices.

Of course, the outfit is not denying that they would look super cool on a smartphone, but the question is who would be daft enough to pay for one.

Sharp recently introduced plans to develop a 5.5 inch, 3840 x 2160 pixel display and Samsung may be working on 11k smartphone displays with 2,250 pixels per inch.

What is weird though is why so many laptops are still shipping with low res screens. It is almost as if manufactures think that users do not care.
