For a mere $19,800

Bentley Motors Ltd.
has announced that it will release a truly luxury laptop computer to be known as the Ego for Bentley.  Coming in at an expected price tag of $19,800 (each), Bentley says that it plans to produce only 250 of these laptops, thus making them even more exclusive and egocentric for their owners. Bentley Motors teamed up with Ego Lifestyle BV to create this ultra-high-end laptop. Ego Lifestyle designs and sells high-end consumer electronics.

The Ego will run Microsoft Vista software, have a 64-Bit processor and a 160GB hard drive. And just to ensure its exclusivity, the notebook itself will be encircled with a white gold frame and the limited edition number engraved on it.  The exterior of the laptop will be trimmed in Bentley interior leather and styled with Bentley’s crossover hand stitching.  It can be ordered in any Bentley exterior paint color with coordinating or matching leather trim and will sport an ergonomic integrated handle built into the notebook, eliminating the “need for an unattractive bag or case.”  The Ego will resemble an expensive handbag when it is closed, rather than the usual plain notebook.

"It perhaps isn't the value leader in the notebook market -- maybe $1,500 worth of technology, plus another $1,000 for the case, coupled with meager support, all for only $19,000," according to Dan Olds, an analyst at the Gabriel Consulting Group, Inc.  "All this thing brings to the table is a cool handle, a durable outer case and some assignable keys. This thing is ostentatious enough to give Paris Hilton pause … Their brand name of ‘Ego’ really sums everything up perfectly."
