Donald Trump attacks Apple

by on19 January 2016

Build your gear in America dammit!

Comedy presidential option Donald Trump has angered the Tame Apple Press by daring to suggest that if he was elected Apple would be forced to make its products in the US.

The bouffant Trump finished his Liberty University speech screaming that he was going to get Apple to “build their damn computers in this country instead of other countries.”
The Tame Apple Press was furious, with Apple fanboys crying that if Trump was elected their iPhones would be even more expensive because Apple could not use cut price Chinese workers from Foxconn.

One, against all evidence said that it was unfair because Apple did make its all its computers in the US. They claimed that Apple's CEO Tim Cook announced back in 2013 that it would start shifting production of its computers back to a huge manufacturing plant in Texas creating at first around 2,000 new jobs.

In fact Apple only makes its Mac Pro at the site, which is not a significant amount of production, and is only there because Texas gave the company tax cuts if it did so  .

But what makes this amusing reading is seeing Apple portrayed as the evil company taking jobs away from Americans and the lengths the Tame Apple Press are taking to say how flag waving American the company really is.

“For starters the US would need to catch-up in terms of infrastructure and expertise, China has a well-established ecosystem which specialises in the mass-production of high-complexity technological components. You couldn't just simply build the required factories in the US and get started,” the Huffington Post dared to pen.

So basically China is the US’s technological superior? We are not sure that is the case.

"Apple outsources because it maximizes profit, but that is not the only reason. Asia’s electronics supply chains are much larger than what the US has to offer. Not only would Trump have to come up with a way to penalize Apple for outsourcing so harshly that it’d make sense to change its manufacturing model—he’d also have to help US manufacturing catch up to China so that Apple could feasibly begin production here," justified Gizmodo.

As far as Trump is concerned, Apple fanboys are not going to vote for him anyway nor is the company likely to come up with campaign funds so he is not losing out. But he is picking at an old sore in Apple’s image. It markets itself as the liberal, clean, green, new age sort of company while at the same time being the poster child for evil Globablised capitalism.  It makes all its goods in China and keeps as much of its profits off shore that it can so that America does not benefit from its stonking profits..

While it behaves like that it is a soft target for buffoon politicans like Trump who see a soft target.
