It's all about design

Asus' overpriced Eee PC S101 has already been reviewed, which is pretty good going considering it has just launched hours ago. In terms of specifications, there's really nothing much new, apart from the larger and what seems to be slightly faster SSD drives.

It's all about the design when it comes to the S101 and it's another style over matter product by the looks of it. Despite good battery life and an improved look and feel over the original Eee PC models, we have a hard time figuring out who is going to go for this machine, as you can get a better notebook for less money than this netbook.

Mobile Computer is stating that Asus is still finalizing the pricing, but it's expected that the 16GB Windows XP model and the 32GB Linux model will go on sale for £449 (€578/$783) or slightly less in the UK. That's still quite expensive for a machine that has very little to offer over an Eee PC 1000-series machine, or any other 10in netbook, that is.

You can find the review here and make your own mind up if you think it's worth the extra cash.
