Sci-tech based?

Bill Gates, now retired from Microsoft, has filed registration documents for a new organization. The Puget-Sound Business Journal in Seattle, Washington has reported that Gates has new high-tech office space, a catchy name and a clever logo that has been trademarked. The new company is known as bgC3 LLC and is located in Kirkland, Washington, a suburb located next to Redmond.

The public documents that were filed to register bgC3 LLC describe the venture as a think tank. Federal trademark filings describe bgC3 as a think tank, under a generic trademark classification that corresponds broadly to "scientific and technological services," "industrial analysis and research," and "design and development of computer hardware and software."

Gates’ insiders claim that the new venture is not being created for commercial purposes, but was created to run Gates’ philanthropic organizations and for research purposes. The name stands for Bill Gates, catalyst and the number three. This is Bill Gates’ third venture: the first one was Microsoft and the second was the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, an organization that focuses on world health care issues.

When Gates stepped down from Microsoft, he said that he was going to focus full time on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and part-time on other selected Microsoft assignments. He is still on the Board of Directors, as well. He also said he would be open to supporting breakthrough ideas where he sees a chance to better mankind.

One of the projects that Gates is currently backing is an alternative nuclear reactor that produces no waste or other dangerous materials, according to TechFlash.
