Dell launches QWXGA display, too
Follows Samsung's lead
It seems like Samsung has started a trend, despite only just having announced its own model, as now Dell has followed suit with the SP2309W, which is the second display to date to feature QWXGA (2,048x1,152) resolution.
This new trend of high-resolution, 23-inch LCD panels will hopefully continue, as for those that need the extra desktop real estate, these kind of panels are a godsend. Dell seems to have improved upon the Samsung specs by offering 300cd/m2 brightness and 2ms response time, although the dynamic contrast ratio is only 1000:1, but this isn't really that important.
The SP2309W comes with D-sub, DVI and HDMI input options and it also has a built-in 2Megapixel Webcam. It's currently available from Dell Canada, but we'd expect it to roll out across the world shortly. Dell is selling it for CA$419.99 (US$358/€279/£228) which is about on par with the Samsung model.
