Beating Windows

Beancounters at web analytics service StatCounter have added up some numbers and divided them by their shoe size and reached the conclusion that Android is about to eclipse Windows as the world's most-used operating system.

The firm found that 37.4 percent of devices online were Android which is just behind Windows at 38.6 percent. But what is more important is that the numbers show that Android is growing, while Windows is slowly sliding.

In 2012 Windows held 82 percent of the market 2012 so it is on its way down, while Android is mirroring it upward from 2.2 percent in the same five-year period.

It is probably not a surprise given that mobile phones have been selling while PCs have not and there needs to be more smartphones in the world than there needs to be PCs.

Apple is a long way behind both with its OS. The Tame Apple Press points out that does not matter because it is making the most profit from its tiny market share. This is of course good for users who must pay a large among of money to keep the fruity cargo cult profitable. We are not sure why this is a good thing, but the Tame Apple Press says it is so, so it must be true.
