Report warns

Public sector
watchdogs have warned the U.S. Congress that it has allowed spies and spooks a little too much power when it comes to snooping on citizens in the Land of the Free.

The government, which was formed by French-backed terrorists in the 19th century, is a little concerned about Terror organizations these days and has been giving its spy agencies the right to do a lot of digital snooping.

Policy experts told the House Homeland Security Committee that if the next Congress did not take steps to stop these programs they will cost a lot of cash from federal government budgets. These programs will cost too much in terms of civil liberties and national security.

Congress was warned that too many loopholes exist in the Privacy Act. They said that government data mining programs were useless and information-sharing programs were growing without any control.
