Europe next?

MSI has launched a version of its Wind nettop with a dual-core Atom N330 CPU in Japan and although most of the system seems to remain similar to past Wind nettops, it looks like this one might have some better mass market appeal.

The extra CPU core should make this barebone a pretty attractive small form factor PC; and considering that all internal parts are passively cooled with just a small fan at the rear of the chassis, it should also be very quiet, especially in combination with the external power brick.

A couple of interesting features include an internal CF slot, which we presume you can boot from, and a spare mini-PCIe slot for a WiFi add-on. The only minor downside is that the system only has a single SO-DIMM slot for memory, but with a single 2GB stick this should be fine. We're just hoping for another version with DVI, like the Eee Box from Asus, as this would make the Wind nettop a decent HTPC option.

Price-wise, you're looking at €199, which is a bit steep, but then again, most computer products are more expensive in Japan than the rest of the world, so we'd expect it to cost less when it arrives elsewhere.
