First "leaked" pictures show up

Just in time for the holidays, the first rumored pictures of Apple's new Mac mini have turned up over at Macenstien, although at least one of them has already been debunked as a fake. Apple is expected to announce a new Mac Mini at Macworld next month.

The interesting thing is that the second picture still hasn't been proven to be a fake, although we're not sure if it's the kind of design Apple would go for. It does have a lot in common with the new MacBooks, as it's made from aluminium and the design is quite different from the older Mac mini.

The naysayers think it's a fake because of a small slot that runs around the edge of the top of the chassis, although some seem to think this is part of the cooling system. The picture seems to be part of some kind of Apple ad, and due to the text above it which reads, "The world’s smallest desktop computer" others are suggesting that this is the reason why it's a fake, as Apple would never use such a slogan.

We'll have to wait a bit longer until we find out if it's the real deal or not, but Apple has been sloppy as of late when it comes to product leaks, although we wouldn't bet any large sums on this being the real deal.
