Financial crisis helps out


Money management
sites are making a killing as cash strapped punters look for a way out of their financial troubles. Sites such as Mint, Buxfer, Geezeo and Wesabe are have been dragging in users with powerful online money management tools and the promise of access to their financial information from anywhere in the world.

Mint.com is reporting that new users have tripled for industry leader Mint.com since the financial crisis hit the United States in September, with 40,000 people joining last week. Geezeo gets 150,000 users a month. Geezeo.com co-founder Peter Glyman told AFP that there were a generation of people using debit and credit cards, but removed from where their money is going.

The average age of its users has remained around 30 years old, older people are a bit worried about sticking all their financial information on the web.
