It looks
like there will be no PSP Phone in the works after Sony has blocked plans for mobile gaming gear.

Talks between Sony and Sony Ericsson have broken down putting the idea of a PSP phone on hold. The games blog sites were all a abuzz wit the idea of a PSP on the most cutting-edge technology Sony Ericsson had to offer.  It looked like Sony Ericsson wanted to develop a phone to capitalise on the growing popularity of casual gaming and music.

The fact that Sony refused to sanction the use of the PlayStation brand has prompted a fall-out between the gaming and phone divisions. Apparently Sony will only allow its mobile phone division to use the brand if it never spoke to Ericsson ever again and made its own phones.

Now the pair are not talking and will probably not invite each other to each other's Christmas party.
