The two new Walkman phones from SonyEricsson are something quite spectacular and it shows how serious SonyEricsson is about its Walkman branded phones. Let's start with the W910i slider of which some pictures leaked out to the web of a little while back.

The orange was killed off in favour for a red model and black is your other colour option. It's only 12.5mm thick, weighs 86g, has a 320x240 display that measures 2.4in and it can be used in landscape mode for video content. What's more, it's got shake control, press the Walkman button, flick your writst and the phone changes to the next track in your play list and vibrates to tell you it has done so. It's a quad band GSM handset with GPRS and EDGE, as well as it has 3G and HSDPA, although this is limited to the European 2.1GHz band.

But the features don't stop there as it has a built in 2Mega pixel camera and a front mounted camera for video calls. It does of course have Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP profile support and it also features 40MB of built in memory and a Sony M2 memory card slot for memory expansion. You get a 1GB card in the box.

Next up is the W960i and this one is a real scorcher. It only comes in black, but it looks so good in black that there's no reason to want it in any other colour. The W960i must be one of the most feature packed phones ever. For starters it has 8GB of built in flash memory for your music, it has a 2.6in 320x240 touch screen display (yes you read that correct) and built in Wi-Fi.

Can it get better than this? Well, yes it can, as the W960i also has the shake control of the W910i, but adds a touch sensitive control area for the music control and it also borrows a jog dial from the P-series for easy menu navigation without having to use the touch screen.

It's slightly chunkier than the W910i at 116g and 16mm thick, but it's hardly a brick. It also has a 3.2Mega pixel auto focus camera and a frount mounted camera for video calls. Sadly the W960i lacks HSDPA, but it is a 3G device as well as a tri-band GSM handset with GPRS, although it doesn't support EDGE. It's using the latest version of the UIQ OS, 3.1 and it supports USB 2.0 for quick sync between it and your computer. Finally it is supplied with a stereo Bluetooth headset. This one isn't going to be cheap, so you better start saving now, as both models will be available in Q4 this year.
