Many improvements, but still a bit behind

Apple has released the new beta of the Safari browser for Windows with version 4. With an updated interface and enhanced performance, Safari Beta 4 for Windows proves to be much better than the last version of Safari, but still a bit behind some competitors in many areas.

Some that take a look at Beta version 4 of Safari might immediately start thinking that it surely does look in many ways much like the Google Chrome browser, and they would not be far off. Still, the latest version offers very fast performance and that alone might make it worth a second look.

While Apple is taking its time to bring the Safari and iTunes experience to Windows is good thing, we have to think that it does not go far enough. Apple has its exclusives for the Apple platform, yet one has to wonder what would happen if they did a conversion of Final Cut Pro and brought it to Windows. Would users embrace this, and would Apple be able to make enough money by doing so to make it worth their time to do it? However, it seems that Apple is happy where they are with their Windows development, and we don’t look to see any additional applications coming out of Apple for Windows.

If Safari is a demo of what Web browsing on the Mac is like, we have to say that it is much better than the last version of Safari, but better browsers with more features continue to be the right ticket for us.
