Although we've already covered a lot of the details about the upcoming M1022, M1024 and M1028 netbooks from Gigabyte, a lot more details have turned up on Engadget Chinese and it seems like the names have changed since the first news about these new netbooks leaked out.

Gigabyte will have four different series of products this year, the S, M, T and G-series, with the S standing for slim and light, the M for desktop replacement (I don't get it Ed.), the T for touch and hand writing and finally the G for gaming. The G-series won't be out until Q4 this year, so we're not quite sure what to expect here, but Nvidia's Ion might be part of the plan. Gigabyte has also come up with some nifty new category names such as touchnote, booktop and thinnote for the new models. We doubt that either name will really take off.

Due to the new model ranges, the model names are now M1022, S1024 and T1028. Gigabyte is also working on a 16-inch T-series model and 13.4-inch M and S-series models. One feature we weren't aware of is the dock which allows you to put your notebook vertically on your desk and then use it with a desktop display. The only downside is the fact that you're limited to a D-sub connector for display connectivity. Oddly enough, the dock seems to have been designed for only the M1022 model, as it seems to have a proprietary connector on the side of the netbook.

We won't go into too many technical details here, as we've already covered most of that, but some additional information cropped up. The M1022 and T1028 will use a 4 or 6-cell battery, while the S1024 will only come with a 6-cell battery. There will also be a G SKU of all three models that features built in 3.5G data connectivity and the M1022 and T1028 should also be getting WiMAX at some stage. The P SKU will feature the GN40 chipset rather than the 945GSE and in the case of the T1028 the P SKU will also get a higher resolution 1,366x768 display.

You can find a whole bunch of pictures and more details here (in Chinese), make sure you don't miss the slideshow at the bottom of the page as well which contains slides from a presentation.
