People with odd names are having trouble signing up to facebook, according to The Washington Post.
Caitlin Batman Shaw, mental health therapist from Virginia, says she
was unable to add her maiden name, Batman, to help old friends find
her. Facebook admins thought someone was having a laugh and simple
rejected the change. After three weeks of emailing Facebook, the powers
that be realized the mistake and let Batman Shaw use her maiden name on
the site.
A Facebook spokeswoman says names such as Batman get flagget
automatically because the number of real Batmans is probably "fewer
than the
number of people who could potentially misuse the name on the site."
Other names flagged by the site include Yoda, Christmas, Beers and Pancake, and some avatars are also disliked by the site.
