Who wants SMS?

A new monthly fee paying service from T-Mobile enables access to email straight from a user’s phone. For $3.50 a month the user can upload up to five email accounts, such as Google Mail or Hotmail, and each can be separated out into different inboxes.

Richard Warmsley, head of internet and entertainment at T-Mobile, in a press release that mobile email is nothing new for business customers, but he thought everyone should have easy access to their inbox on the phone of their choice. It is initially only available on a selection of Nokia devices but will be rolling out across other T-Mobile handsets in the future. The service allows people to see emails as they arrive without the hassle of logging on or going online.

Along with the email, the service can back up and update phone numbers, email addresses and calendar to the phone and the monthly fee will include all emails and attachments.
