Built by Qualcomm based around Arm

Zeebo has released a low-cost console targeted at "the next billion" gamers in developing countries including Brazil and China.

The kit is being built by Qualcomm and will use 3G broadband wireless telecom technology. Already Electronic Arts, Capcom, THQ, Gameloft, Glu, and Namco Networks have signed up for the scheme.

Zeebo consoles will have a suggested retail price $199 dollars when they hit the shops in Brazil next month. The price will drop when the consoles start being shipped to other countries later this year.

Consoles will have four games embedded and software for a fifth title will be available for free download using built-in wireless connections.

The games publishers think that this will save a lot of their piracy troubles.
