DS shipments surge past 100 million

In a not

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata also said that Nintendo DS shipments have surpassed the 100 million mark, and that Nintendo's success has surpassed his expectations, and ours of course.

In a gesture of modesty, a trade absent in most company bosses like a halo and angel wings on a vampire, he attributed much of Nintendo's success to software developers. "one rule always remains the same: Software sells hardware," said Iwata, and hats off for that.

Interestingly, Iwata revealed that more than 47 percent of DS handheld consoles were purchased by women.
