Now for some good economic news

Taipei-based Compal Electronics, the second-largest contract laptop PC manufacturer in the world, has announced that it will add approximately 30 percent more employees by June. The workforce increase is due to rising product demand from Europe, China and the U.S., said Compal.

This increase is in addition to the 10,000 employees that were added in January of this year by Compal. The company indicated that demand for laptops began to rise first in China, then in Europe and is now beginning to spark in the U.S. market. Compal is a direct manufacturer of laptops for Dell, Acer and Hewlett-Packard.

The company also said that it is on target for its original annual shipment target of 32-35 million laptop PCs this year and that it will be able to meet that target number on top of a technology market rebound.
