Poverty spec'd, but cute and cuddly

Milan-based
Abaco is offering an Atom based desktop running Xubuntu Linux for a measly 99 euro including VAT.

Dubbed Primo Abaco, it's got a nice name, and being Italian, it looks quite nice too, which is no surprise as the only bad looking thing to come out of Italy is, well, nothing.

It's based on Intel's Atom N230 CPU, has 512MB of RAM and 4GB of flash storage, both courtesy of Kingston. The Primo measures 37x13.5x35cm and weighs just under 5kg. The upside of being slightly bulkier than most nettops is that it's very upgradeable, and you can easily stick a hard drive or optical drive in it.

By now, you're probably thinking there's a catch, and there is. If you want to get it for €99, you'll have to put it together yourself, or pay a €12.50 premium to have a few aspiring Milanese fashion designers do it for you.
