Both said to be using Atom 330

HKEPC has scored a picture of both ASRock's upcoming ION system as well as what is most likely an OEM or ODM design from Pegatron. It's hard to tell a lot of details from the pictures, as they're only from one angle for each of the systems, but neither look as cool as the Acer Aspire Revo in our opinion.

However, these are the first dual core Atom 330 based ION system we've seen, since Acer decided to go with the single core Atom 230 to keep cost down. According to the story on HKEPC, Nvidia is expecting some 40 ION platforms on the market by the end of the year and we're sure we'll see at least a few of those at Computex in early June.

The ASRock ION 330 (great naming there guys Ed.) isn't exactly what we'd call pretty, but the company has squeezed in a notebook style optical drive in its little black box. Apart from that there aren't much in terms of details of this system, but one has to presume that it will feature some fairly decent connectivity options.

The Pegatron Cape 7 looks at least to a degree similar to the Aspire Revo, as it's a slim, square box on a small desktop stand, but it's encased in white plastic which makes it look fairly unattractive. It has four USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, an HDMI port, what looks like a 3.5mm audio jack and a power connector for an external power brick.

Neither system makes us want to rush out and buy them and hopefully other Nvidia partners will take a leaf out of Acer's book and come up with some stylish, consumer friendly designs.

You can find the pictures here as well as some more details in Chinese.
